- This marks the 2nd annual convening of all members within the Africa Health Collaborative
- This year’s gathering will be hosted by the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology, in Ghana
The Africa Health Collaborative (the Collaborative) is set to host its 2024 Annual Convening under the theme “Nyansapo: Innovating Health Systems in Africa for Africa and the World.”
The week-long event will be held at the Lancaster City Hotel, Kumasi, bringing together its members from nine higher education institutions, the Mastercard Foundation, stakeholders, policymakers, and entrepreneurs in health to discuss key efforts and opportunities in Africa’s healthcare systems. The event will also focus on the role of south-south collaborations, young people and entrepreneurship in building sustainable innovative health systems.
“Our aim is to establish a resilient and robust post-COVID-19 health system by leveraging the vast data generated through the Health Collaborative. We will achieve this by harnessing the talents of Africa’s highly motivated and skilled youth, alongside the dedicated commitment of stakeholders from participating institutions”, said Prof. Ellis Owusu-Dabo, Chair of the Executive Steering Committee, Africa Health Collaborative.

This year’s theme, symbolized by the revered Adinkra symbol Nyansapo, emphasizes the need for wisdom, innovation, and sustainable strategies to reshape healthcare across Africa.
Attendees can look forward to plenary sessions, workshops on health innovation, networking opportunities, and presentations of impact stories and case studies from across the continent.
